John Spry Early College and Career Prep is located in the heart of Little Village, a neighborhood rich with Hispanic tradition and culture. As a community school, Community Links is a hub that provides education and essential services to students and families living in the surrounding area. We are committed to academic excellence and the social-emotional development of all of our students.
John Spry Early College and Career Prep was founded in 2003 as a small high school. SECCP students complete their high school coursework in three years by attending classes year-round. Our fast-paced, rigorous curriculum prepares students to succeed in the college setting.

The Faculty
Our staff is made up of talented, dedicated, and diverse educators who go above and beyond to support students in achieving their goals. Our teachers are passionate about their fields, many holding or pursuing advanced degrees or National-Board Certification.

Post-secondary Outcomes
Our graduates continue to receive support during their first year of college through our partnership with One Goal. SECCP students have a high rate of college persistence, with a college persistence rate of 80.6% in 2019.
John Spry Early College and Career Prep graduates have gone on to attend many colleges and universities, including University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, DePaul University, National Louis University, Columbia College, Northeastern Illinois University, City Colleges of Chicago, and Robert Morris University. Many of our students are first-generation college students.

Academic and Graduation Requirements
SECCP Students are expected to meet rigorous academic standards as a part of an accelerated, intensive course of study. Students are engaged year-round, taking classes every summer in addition to their full course schedule during the academic year.
A minimum of 24 academic units of credit is required for graduation. Coursework must include: English, four units; mathematics, three units; social science, three units; science, three units; world language, two units; fine arts, two units; physical education, two units; career education, two units; and elective credit, three units. Students must also complete consumer education, driver education and a Constitution exam.
